SVP Select Single Seat Valves

With many years of experience in design and construction of valves for the food, dairy, beverage, pharmaceutical, chemical, and cosmetic industries, Norit Südmo has developed a comprehensive and modular standard valve program. Manufactured from solid bar stock, Norit Südmo valves are characterized by their machined surfaces, long service life, and resistance to aggressive media. They are used in areas where hygienic conditions are of utmost importance. The actuators come standard with the highest holding pressure in the market and have a 10-year warranty. All materials are FDA approved and the valves carry both the 3-A symbol and EHEDG certification. The stems are offered with o-ring seals for superior sealing or PEEK for aggressive media conditions. The modular design allows for common seal dimensions and common actuators for the various sizes. No special tools are required so maintenance of the valves is quick and easy. Südmo's single seat and aseptic valve series offers many types of valves, including tangential, flow diversion, Y-body, non-slamming divert, long stroke and regulating.

Aseptic Interface Valve (AIV)

Norit Südmo Aseptic Interface Valve (AIV) was designed specifically for aseptic processing applications to provide an effective, safe and compact means of separating commercially sterile processes involving cleaning solutions, allergens, different product bases, flavor variants and modes of operation from each other.

The AIV features 100 % cleanability between process lines while satisfying the requirements of PMO regulation 15p(B.1.c), for the safe separation of aseptically processed milk and milk products from CIP cleaning solutions. The AIV eliminates the requirement to shut down and perform serpentine wash routines through aseptic valve matrixes. This results in a simplification of the process design and a capital cost savings by eliminating piping and valving required for serpentine CIP flow routing.

P 3 Diaphragm

Norit Südmo’s revolutionary P 3 material was designed to eliminate the problems associated with traditional aseptic rising stem valves. Our P 3 material is resistant to high pressures, high temperatures and aggressive chemicals. Customers who have retro-fitted this material into their systems have experienced significantly extended service life and reduced maintenance without changes to their process.

P 3 has excellent cleaning properties and outstanding performance even under the most difficult operating conditions, ensuring that the system remains sterile. With our PEEK stem option, product doesn’t burn on to the hot stems because the PEEK material reduces the thermal transfer from the sterilization medium to the finished product.

P 3 is available in the SVP Select Valve series and as a kit that is 100% retro-fittable on existing Norit Südmo valves. Now is the time to take advantage of this groundbreaking material and start reaping the benefits from reduced plant downtime and longer maintenance intervals.

IntelliTop™

Norit Südmo’s innovation in intelligent communication is designed specifically to increase plant efficiency by controlling, monitoring and reporting on all valve functions in the process plant. The system is designed to monitor plant functions to quickly identify the problem with a component or communication hardware or software. This results in a faster response and virtually eliminates downtime for the process systems.

A visual feedback with a LED multi-colored light (red, amber, green) on the control top is visible within the process room for operators to understand valve position and potential issues. Ease of access to valve maintenance allows for regular valve reviews.

The stainless steel cover protects internal elements and eliminates damage that can occur during installation and regular plant maintenance. The double seal insures that internal components are protected from the elements.

365it PMO Mix Proof Valve

Norit Südmo’s 365it™ PMO Mix Proof Valve allows full seat cleaning with product in the opposite pipeline, resulting in increased production time and greater flexibility to use available tanks and equipment. This re-engineered Mix Proof Valve, which features the same one-piece machined body and full port vent design of Norit Südmo’s original PMO Mix Proof Valve, assures there is no possibility of cleaning chemicals contaminating the opposite pipeline of product during seat cleaning. In addition, this valve completely cleans the stem during the seat lift operation, ensuring that the area of the stem that is exposed to product is also fully exposed to cleaning chemicals.

Butterfly Valve

Norit Südmo’s hygienic shut-off Butterfly Valves are used in all segments of the process industry including brewing, beverage, pharmaceutical, chemical, cosmetic, and some food applications. Our comprehensive valve line features both manual and pneumatic drive options, including lockable handles and vertical actuators. Norit Südmo offers a variety of options that allow monitoring and control of the valves through the control system, including our state-of-the-art IntelliTop™ option.

The special design of Norit Südmo’s Butterfly Valves reduces friction between the valve disc and the disc seal, which minimizes wear and tear on the seals, and ensures longer maintenance intervals. All valves are manufactured from high-quality stainless steel and offer a variety of FDA-approved seal material options, including HNBR and PTFE. No special tools are required to change the seals, making the valve quick and easy to maintain. The complete line of Norit Südmo Butterfly Valves is highly resistant to aggressive media.

Norit Südmo’s Butterfly Valves are available in sizes ranging from ½ to 6 inch OD Tube, Schedule 5, metric and ISO pipe dimensions, and offer a wide variety of connection types.

Mix Proof Butterfly Valve

Norit Südmo’s Mix Proof Butterfly Valve provides safe separation of incompatible fluids in a compact design with significant advantages over traditional block and bleed installations. By integrating two butterfly discs and independent vent/drain valves into a common housing, the Norit Südmo Mix Proof Butterfly Valve completely isolates the cleanable leakage chamber with a single valve housing and actuator.

Constant Pressure Valve

Norit Südmo designed a balanced, 100% stainless steel valve that eliminates the issues related to diaphragm fatigue, while providing excellent control of back pressure with varying flow and viscosity characteristics.

The simple design, available in sizes ranging from 1 to 4 inches, is a variation on our proven single seat valve range. It can be retro-fitted into any existing system, regardless of manufacturer. With no automation required, the self-regulating air supply unit is set at installation and the need for adjustment is eliminated.

Regulating Valve

Norit Südmo’s SVP Select Regulating Valve has many CV value options and offers both linear and equal percentage, which allows for total customization of each application using our standard components. This results in perfect control of product and CIP flow.

Our electropneumatic positioner (type 8630) and combination of multiple CV’s and seat profiles allow for precise flow control without the need for large expensive actuators. The electropneumatic positioner takes an input signal, such as 4-20MA, either from the PLC or directly from the inline sensor. When taken directly, this can eliminate the need for PID loops and related software. With the optional programmable features contained in the standard control top, functions such as gain, response time and customized curves, allow the user excellent control and repeatability.

Large Particulate Valve

Using our standard leak-free Mix Proof valve as a baseline, our engineers developed a valve which allows particulates, up to 1 inch in the standard design, to travel down through the valve without lodging in the seat area. With the standard integral seat lift actuator, both seats can be cleaned during operation. Using the Mix Proof valves in a cluster design allows the height of the mixing kettles to be lowered so that they are accessible from the ground. By replacing flow plates with Mix Proof valves, the customer improved product quality by eliminating atmospheric contamination. In conjunction with Norit Südmo’s Bus-compatible IntelliTop™, the customer was able to integrate the valves into their control system with a simple cable and air supply.

ASME Pressure Relief Valves

Norit Südmo offers a line of spring-loaded ASME Pressure Relief Valves designed to protect sensitive processes against unacceptable overpressure without putting hygienic requirements at risk. If pressure exceeds the design pressure of the vessel, the Pressure Relief Valve will open, relieve the pressure, and immediately close. This ensures that the contents of the tank are not contaminated, and it does not require any downtime as the valve automatically resets. To ensure the highest level of hygienic operation, the valve seat can be lifted during CIP to ensure that all valve parts in contact with the vessel are cleaned and free of bacteria. The valves are designed and manufactured to the highest standards and meet ASME, FDA (3-A) and BPE requirements.

Non-Slamming Flow Diversion Device

Norit Südmo offers a Non-Slamming Flow Diversion Device that interfaces with the legal control systems for HTST operation. The machined body offers a rugged solution with a maintenance-free actuator that carries a 10-year warranty. The quick and easy testing procedure for inspectors allows for faster verification of operation. Our competitors’ products require complete disassembly of the valve for this testing.

The upper seat is made from a durable PEEK material, while the lower seat is a sliding o-ring seal made from standard FDA approved seal materials (EPDM, HNBR, FPM). This rugged upper seat prevents frequent replacement and eliminates the need for frequent adjustment of the microswitch, while the radial lower seal allows for easy maintenance. The microswitch control top provides feedback when the valve is unseated and also when the seat is damaged. The valve set carries the 3-A symbol and meets the FDA guidelines for Flow Diversion Devices.

Cheese Curd Outlet PMO Mix Proof Valve

The large open throat of the Norit Südmo Cheese Curd Outlet PMO Mix Proof Valve provides gentle handling of the curd, and allows particles of up to approximately 1.75 inches to pass unobstructed through the valve. Unlike traditional Mix Proof valves, the Cheese Curd Outlet Valve is specially designed for the United States cheese market with a larger than normal double seat valve leak detect port. The use of Mix Proof technology ensures safe separation of incompatible fluid media. Independent seat lifting allows seat cleaning with the corresponding line to ensure all product contact surfaces are 100% cleaned. As the inventor of the Cheese Curd Outlet Valve, Norit Südmo not only has the technology, but we’ve had the time and experience to perfect it.

Long Stroke Valve

Industries such as food, dairy and consumer products have long faced the difficulty of transferring viscous products or products with particulates through valves and piping. To assist our customers in these challenging applications, Norit Südmo engineers added the long stroke option to the popular, dependable modular components of the SVP Select Valve Program.

Typically, viscous products are transferred using positive displacement pumps. To compensate for this, Norit Südmo actuators come standard with the highest holding pressure on the market, and have a 10-year warranty. Additionally, the stem and housings are manufactured from solid bar stock, which helps to hold up against high pressure and aggressive media. You will experience lower maintenance costs and improved efficiency with our common seal dimensions that are used across the valve sizes. Because no special tools are required, maintenance of the valve is quick and easy. Our Long Stroke Valves allow for complete removal of the stem from the product path and have a minimum of 100% open area. All materials are FDA approved and the valves carry the 3-A symbol. The modular design of our single seat valve line allows our standard valves to be later modified to the long stroke version by simply replacing the insert.

PMO Mix Proof Tank Outlet Valve

Norit Südmo’s PMO Mix Proof Tank Outlet Valve is designed to be installed, pocket-free, directly on the tank outlet. The double seat design of the PMO Tank Outlet Valve ensures that there is no possibility of cleaning solution contaminating the product in the vessel. This means dairy processors can safely clean the line from the tank to the manifold while product is in the tank, and ensures that when the product is transferred out of the tank it will pass through a clean line thereby reducing the possibility of product contamination.

Due to the patented design of Norit Südmo’s PMO Mix Proof Tank Outlet Valve the leak detect chamber is 100% drainable. This valve is also available in a tangential option which, when mounted horizontally, means there is no sump in the valve housing where product or CIP fluid can gather, allowing full drainability of the valve. This valve can be retro-fitted into existing installations, including those with low outlets.
