Tanks
Tanks available in a wide range of sizes and configurations, these include:
- Tanks with scrape surface agitators
- Tanks with turbine agitators
- Tanks with high shear mixers
- Tanks with side entry mixers
- Tanks with clamp mounted mixers
- Tanks, non agitated
- Tanks for heating or cooling with heat transfer surface on side and bottom, ASME code.
- Tanks designed for internal Atmospheric operation
- Tanks designed for internal Vacuum operation
- Tanks designed for internal positive Pressure operation
- Tanks vertical and horizontial design
Tanks with Scrape Surface Agitators
Vessels fitted agitators which match the bottom and side wall shape and typically fitted with nylon or Teflon type scraper blades which contact the sidewall to remove adjacent to the wall. General agitator configurations offered include Single Motion, Double Motion, Counter Rotating, SweepThis type of agitation is typically used for mixing of high viscosity products and heating or cooling applications. These vessels typically do not exceed 8000 gallons and viscosities up to 3,000,000 cps. Most often this agitator configuration will be matched with supplemental or secondary agitators that perform additional mixing functions.

Tanks with Turbine Agitators – Top Mounted Mixers
Vessels fitted with either center mounted or off center mounted agitators typically fitted with single or multiple impellers. If center mounted tanks will included multiple sidewall baffles for controlling rotational flow and mixing. These vessels and agitator combinations are typically sized for either mixing applications for up to 10,000 gallons and holding applications up 20,000 gallons. Often the limitation on sizing and use of this style agitation is viscosity of the product up to 15,000 cps and mixer shaft lengths. These are considered low shear mixing type vessel.
Tanks with High Shear Mixers
Vessel fitted with top mounted high shear mixers typically positioned off center. Can be used in combination with scrape surface agitators or turbine mixers.
Tank with Side Entry Mixers
Vessels fitted with side entry mixers used to provide circulation typically for heat transfer applications on lower viscosity products. Horizontally mounted generally near the bottom of a vessel. Multiple mixers can be used on a single vessel, either at multiple positions around the parameter on larger diameter vessels or at different elevations for taller vessels.
Non Agitated Tanks
Vessels designed without any type of agitation typically used for holding and storage on products that do not require movement for consistency.
Tanks for Heating and Cooling
Any vessel can be fitted with heat transfer surface on the bottom and side wall. Suitable for use with heating medias, steam, hot water, and hot oil; cooling medias of chilled water, glycol, ammonia and Freon gases. The pressure rating for these surfaces can be designed for up to 300 psi ASME code design. Non Code rated surfaces are also available a special request. Typically vessels with heat transfer surface are also insulated and then covered with outer stainless steel shell creating a smooth exterior finish.
Tanks for Operation with Product under Atmospheric, Vacuum and Pressure
Vessels with loose fitting on vented covers are those designed for atmospheric operation conditions. Vessels can be designed with closed tops, mayways, and agitator seals for maintaining vacuum or positive pressure product side conditions for specific process applications.
